Get To Know B97-3's Stitch Mitchell

Wow…where do ya start?  Better yet…where do ya end?  I was born and raised in a small town in Iowa and moved to the beautiful city of Seattle in 1985.  I’ve been lucky enough to have worked at a number of radio stations in town. My career has taken me from the Midwest to the North West to Vegas and Portland, Oregon…. all nice places, but they aren’t Seattle.

I’m proud as a peacock to be the “night guy” at the New B97-3!  Somehow…and luckily…five of my six brothers and sisters all call the Greater Seattle area home…life wouldn’t be the same otherwise.  I reside in beautiful Ballard with my beautiful wife Amy…and our Golden Retriever Cooper…we love that big guy!  The other loves of my life are music and sports…oh and crossword puzzles too…I gotta do at least one every day!

People always ask me what I’d do if I won the lottery…and the answer is: After a very long vacation I’d buy a community theater or a small-town radio station…or both if I could!

Favorite Movie: Glengarry Glenn Ross

Favorite Foods: Anything “Grill-able”.

Most interesting Interview: Cheap Trick (ask me why…but off the air!)

Two bad habits: Slicing and hooking my tee-shots!

One day to live: Golfing…and golfing WELL with my wife.

Leno or Letterman? John Stewart

Favorite Breakfast cereal: Much to my wife’s chargin, I don’t eat breakfast unless it’s for lunch or

dinner.

Most embarrassing moment: See most interesting interview above.

If I wasn’t in radio: I’d feel lost

If I didn’t live in Ballard where else would I want to live”? In my sisters house in Ballard.

Astrological sign: Leo

Dislikes: People who don’t give you the “wave” after pulling over to the side of the road so they can

pass!  C’mon!

Favorite book: anything by John Steinbeck

Dream Job…Okay this time I really thought about it…being the play-by-play guy for the Mariners…or the Seahawks…or the Sonics…I think you get the idea.

Who do I wish would run president?  My mom; everyone one would know they’re loved and have been heard.  (Her running mate? Lisa Simpson)

Biggest deficiency?  Never, ever ask me to use the power drill. I ask my wife every time I bring it out for a job around the house. I may not be handy, but I do all the laundry and the dishes too.

Tallest in the family: Stretch Mitchell

Celebrity Look-alike: James Spader, or so I’ve been told.
